Right from its inception in 1983 , Kendriya Vidyalaya , Steel plant has become a centre of excellence in the field of Primary , Secondary & Senior-secondary education for the children of the employees of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant . Sponsored by the VISAKHAPATNAM STEEL PLANT (Rashtriya Ispaat Nigam Ltd., Govt. of India) , Kendriya Vidyalaya, Steel Plant is housed in an imposing building over a beautiful landscape of horticultural extravaganza , located in a well secured area of about 25 acres of lush green land .

In affiliation to the CBSE(Central Board of Secondary Education , Govt. of India , New-Delhi) , the co-educational school is well established with all modern facilities like well-designed class-rooms , hi-tech labs. , training programs in Computers , Art & Craft , Music & Dance , Games & Sports and Yoga to impart the specified CBSE curriculum from Class I to XII .
